ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier starting this week , 16 teams challenging
for six places at next year's World Twenty20 hosting by Bangladesh in
March-April 2014. Teams have begun to arrive in the UAE ( Host) ahead of the tournament, which runs from
November 15-30. Ireland and Afghanistan are red hot favourites to qualify.
16 teams have been alienated into two groups, with the top
side from each qualify automatically. The second placed team from group A will
play the third from group B and vice-versa , the winners of which will carry on
on to the World T20. The losers will wait for the winners of similar matches
between the fourth and fifth placed teams from both groups to mount a second
charge at qualifying. The two winners of these matches will be the fifth and
sixth Associate side to join the ten Test nations for the World T20.
