Twenty20 Qualifier: Nepal qualified for the ICC World T20 in Bangladesh

Ganesh Bahadur Shahi Thakuri we miss you: RIP

When Vesawkar scored 1 run from last ball of the match whole nations came out on the street and celebs all day. Historical moment for Nepal sports they never qualified in a major event of any sports. From day 1 of the qualifying round our site tipped Nepal will qualify. Nepal used to fight team’s  like Bangladesh, Netherlands and USA in 90’s. Cricket is a main sports in  South Asia Since India  won the world cup in 83 many people’s expected Nepal to go on and get the test status like Bangladesh did as both countries population loves cricket. May be this qualifications will inspired Nepal’s cricket authority put the correct infrastructure per haves pay monthly wages to all national players in order to lose over a  Secure job.  One of Nepal  finest player has moved to USA for survival after the U19 world cup in 2004. Nepal has the cricket craze, now  authority will get bigger sponsor in coming days but the main question how monies will be spend?  Back to match- After sending Hong Kong into bat, Nepal had bowled and fielded marvellously for the majority of the innings before a hiccup in the final two over’s allowed Hong Kong to reach 143 for 8. Basant Regmi best spinner out the test playing nations who bowled 4 over’s for only 14 runs, Regmi has the ability to play in  highest level of the game, has bowled well throughout the qualifying as per our expert he is the blower of the series. captain Paras Khadka led the team superbly and his performance was  outstanding. Gyanendra Malla has the best technique at this level, He was part of Nepal's campaign in the Under-19 World Cup in 2006 and scored 145 runs in six innings, including 45 in the famous two-run win against South Africa in the Plate semi-final. All in all Nepal deserved to be in the main event and Nepal players done their country proud. Early next year we will see the cricket hype in Nepal when they play team like Bangladesh , Zimbabwe and West indies. If cricket authority of Nepal put the infrastructure right in next 5 years they have players , will have players to gain the  test status because millions of young kids loves the game. Nepal also play qualifying round for 2015 world cup in New Zealand early next year hope they will continue their T20 performance in ODI’s.

Nepal 144 for 5 (Khadka 46, Malla 30) beat Hong Kong 143 for 8 (Mukhiya 3-32, Karn 2-28) by five wickets

Scotland 126 for 3 (MacLeod 56, Berrington 52) beat Italy 125 for 8 (Northcote 46, Carter 2-26, Sharif 2-19) by seven wickets

ICC World Twenty20 Qualifiers: Afghanistan outplayed Kenya to qualify 2014 T20 world cup

Before the qualifying round when the team lined up everyone knows Afghanistan will qualify if they do not that would be a shock at this level. Afgan has some quality players and they have the ability to win vs. Test playing nation in shorter version of the game. Ireland also secured their place from group A. Afgan will have to play the opening round of next year's World Twenty20, which is effectively a qualifying round for the Super 10 stage of the tournament. In the opening round, they will be grouped with Ireland , Bangladesh and Zimbabwe and four other Associates who will be determined by this week. Afgan started the tournament with a shocking lose to Holland but they have regroup and won 6 matches in a row mostly their matches was one sided as none of the teams in group had quality to match Afghan’s skills. Afgan and Irish are in a different class then other teams in this qualifying round, ICC need to rethink about T20/ODI structures if they want to globalised the cricket it’s a high time to give Irish and Afgan direct entry to world cup so the other teams will have a chance to enter in a big event. There are several Afghan and Irish players can fit into any test teams. Afgan and Ireland has the experience and skills to challenge Bangladesh and Zimbabwe, ICC should give test status to Afgan and Ireland for 2 years just to see if they can perform well at this level, May be they will do well vs. BD and ZIM.
